It is the moment to unveil the highly anticipated results of the international contest promoted about a year go by Schmid. The first prize was awarded to <strong>Lauren Cutforth<\/strong> of the <strong>London College of Fashion<\/strong>. The second prize went to <strong>Claudia Dazio<\/strong> of Milan\u2019s <strong>Accademia del Lusso<\/strong>; the third to <strong>Yulya Velyugo<\/strong> of the <strong>Art Future School of Design<\/strong> in Saint Petersburg. The three talented (and young) fashion designers &#8211; who with their creativity beat many competitors &#8211; received a small amount of prize money and now have the possibility to do an internship with <strong>Schmid<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6640\" src=\"https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest.jpg\" alt=\"premiazione-contest\" width=\"665\" height=\"256\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest.jpg 665w, https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest-250x96.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest-350x135.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Schmid\u2019s fashion trends and the winners<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The contestants were asked to create garments and accessories using materials produced by Schmid (satin, nettings, lace and glitter) and find their cue from the four trends identified for our spring\/summer 2016 collection: <strong>Wellness a porter, Archi-Couture, Effortless and Botanical.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest2.jpg\" alt=\"premiazione-contest2\" width=\"665\" height=\"256\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest2.jpg 665w, https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest2-250x96.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest2-350x135.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lauren Cutforth<\/strong>, focusing on <strong>Botanical<\/strong>, attracted the jury\u2019s attention with a pair of fanciful white ankle boots with large colourful flowers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6642\" src=\"https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest3.jpg\" alt=\"premiazione-contest3\" width=\"665\" height=\"256\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest3.jpg 665w, https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest3-250x96.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest3-350x135.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>Claudia Dazio <\/strong>finished second with a minimalist dress inspired by the <strong>Archi-Couture <\/strong>trend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6643\" src=\"https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest4.jpg\" alt=\"premiazione-contest4\" width=\"665\" height=\"256\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest4.jpg 665w, https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest4-250x96.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest4-350x135.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Finally,<strong> Yulya Velyugo <\/strong>convinced the jury with a dress influenced by modular origami forms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3127\" src=\"https:\/\/www.schmid.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Premiazione-Contest3class.jpg\" alt=\"premiazione-contest5\" width=\"665\" height=\"256\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>A top-notch jury for the Textile Talent Contest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The winners of the <strong>Textile Talent Contest <\/strong>were chosen by a jury chaired by <strong>Mario Boselli<\/strong> (honorary president of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, the Italian fashion chamber) and formed by <strong>Gimmi Baldinini<\/strong> (chairman of the eponymous footwear company), <strong>Maurizio Pecoraro<\/strong> (designer), <strong>Fulvia Bacchi<\/strong> (chief executive of the group UNIC) and <strong>Paola Bottelli<\/strong> (a journalist specialised in the fashion industry).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe in young people,\u201d stressed <strong>Paolo Ciccarelli<\/strong>, chief executive and chairman of Schmid \u2013<\/p>\n<p>Not only when they represent a consumer target for our products, but also when they generate <strong>new ideas and new stimuli<\/strong> for our work. In Italy, there is a gap, that is difficult to bridge, between <strong>school and the work place<\/strong> and the fashion industry, which by its nature should be more open-minded to experiments, is no exception.
